A beautiful solo arrangement of this Christmas favorite for viola. The soft piano introduction in the key of D sets a peaceful mood as the viola begins, then transitions to the key of F for the second verse. The viola line moves with expression, and the melody is enhanced with moments of beautiful flourishes and melodic variations. The accompaniment transitions to the key of G for the last verse which ends with a soft, soaring flourish.
